Joining the Network
The National Association of Ministry Retreats supports pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders by helping them find Christian retreat locations across the United States.
Membership is designed for retreat ministries that share a heart for serving those who serve others. NAMR does not operate retreat centers directly. Instead, the association provides a cooperative network where independent Christian retreat ministries can be found by those seeking rest and renewal.
Who Membership Is For
Membership is intended for Christian retreat ministries called to care for pastors, missionaries, ministry leaders, and Christian workers through intentional spaces of rest, reflection, and restoration.
Member retreats must be willing to provide retreat opportunities at no charge to qualified ministry guests as part of their ministry commitment.
Member retreats typically:
• Serve pastors, missionaries, ministry leaders, or Christian workers as a primary audience
• Operate from a clearly Christian foundation
• Offer environments designed for quiet retreat and renewal
• Remain independently operated while participating in a cooperative network
Retreat centers may vary in size, setting, structure, and focus. Seasonal retreats, family-run ministries, and specialized retreat ministries are welcome when aligned with the purpose of the network.
Shared Purpose and Values
Member retreats are united by shared purpose, not uniform programming.
Across the network, retreats are committed to:
Care for Those Who Serve
Honoring the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs carried by pastors and ministry leaders.
Retreat Independence
Respecting each retreat’s full autonomy in operations, offerings, availability, and guest relationships.
Rest and Renewal
Protecting space for reflection, restoration, encouragement, and spiritual renewal.
Integrity in Ministry
Operating with honesty, stewardship, and respect for guests and fellow ministries.
Cooperation Over Competition
Participating in a network built on mutual respect, shared mission, and Christian unity.
What Membership Includes
Membership in the association provides:
• Listing on the National Association of Ministry Retreats website
• Inclusion in a growing national network of Christian retreat ministries
• Increased visibility among pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders seeking retreat opportunities
• Participation in a cooperative association grounded in shared values and trust
The association serves as a point of connection, helping ministry leaders discover retreat locations while honoring each retreat’s unique mission, setting, and structure.
What Membership Does Not Include
To maintain clarity and protect retreat autonomy, membership does not include:
• Centralized booking or scheduling
• Shared pricing structures
• Management of retreat operations
• Guarantees of referrals or bookings
• Oversight of retreat programming or ministry practices
Each retreat remains responsible for its own facilities, availability, communication, guest experience, and ministry guidelines.
Membership Considerations
NAMR recognizes that retreat ministries operate in different seasons, capacities, and callings. Membership is designed to remain flexible while preserving trust, clarity, and alignment.
Member retreats may:
• Operate year-round or seasonally
• Serve individuals, couples, families, or ministry teams
• Offer guided or self-directed retreat experiences
• Adjust availability based on capacity, staffing, and calling
These differences are viewed as strengths within the network. Growth is approached thoughtfully so each new retreat strengthens the shared mission.
